Gay Raubal

Gay has been practicing Bikram Yoga since 2013. A regular practitioner of Iyenga, Ashtanga and other Hatha yoga's' for 8 years, Gay was no stranger to yoga - or so she thought! "I remember in my first Bikram class trying every trick in the book to cope; I felt like I'd been hit by a truck, I'd never experienced anything like it". However after about two months of practice, she realised something amazing was happening, her energy levels were higher she had no more pain from arthritis and she had new found flexibility & true concentration never before gained from her past yoga experiences. Gay found such a passion for Bikram Yoga that she has completed several personal challenges including doubles challenges -'two classes a day, every day for a month'. What was amazing to Gay during the challenges was that Bikram yoga created so much energy that on some days she even did three classes a day. In 2017 the studio owners discovered another incredible discipline -' Inferno Hot Pilates'. Gay jumped at the chance to try it and she was hooked, she immediately became an Inferno Hot Pilates teacher. "Inferno is an incredibly beneficial practice in its own right, but it's also the perfect complement to Bikram Yoga; practicing both really does build strength to create flexibility. Gay's classes are strong, motivating and fun. " I'm incredibly excited about the combined health benefits of Bikram Yoga and Inferno Hot Pilates and I truly believe that everyone who practices Bikram and Inferno will feel better than they’ve ever felt in their life".

Candace Beede

No matter where Candace finds herself on the globe, she enjoys an active lifestyle mixed with indoor and outdoor fitness. Originating from the mountainous Pacific Northwest corner of the United States, she enjoyed outdoor activities like snowboarding and hiking and additionally participated in CrossFit and a regular Bikram yoga practice.

Throughout her travels in South East Asia, Central and South America, Candace practised her yoga regularly, was always on the lookout for the next great hike and enjoyed trying new things like surfing. Since basing herself in Sydney's Northern Beaches in 2015, Candace discovered Bikram Yoga and a love of the hot room and it's detoxifying effects. Candace has felt a complete mental shift based on the meditation that comes with Bikram Yoga, and then Inferno Hot Pilates was introduced to the studio! Candace has is noticed how much stronger she felt with each class attended and could see long, lean muscle mass develop quickly.

More than anything, she loved the feeling of coming into class and exceeding her own expectations every time! 

Candace believes that when we invest in ourself, we are better equipped to make a positive impact on the world around us.

Naturally, when the opportunity presented itself to become an Inferno Hot Pilates Instructor, she jumped at the chance! Her true passion for the Inferno comes through as she empowers students to do their best and have fun!

Martin Standring

Studio owner, Martin aka 'the Boss' certified in 2007 and is an inspirational and popular teacher. With over 3000 classes Martin has taught in some of the busiest studios in both England and Australia.

Before discovering Bikram Yoga Martin spent 14 years as a Fire Fighter. He was also a keen sportsman and was a self-confessed gym junkie! Due to the intense sports activities over a number of years Martin suffered serious knee injuries, which lead to arthritis in his knees and ongoing problems with his back and hips until one day is he was persuaded to try a Bikram class.

Back in those days Martin had very little flexibility and was unable to do many of the postures, which frustrated him, but he loved the complete body work out. He says that it was one of the hardest, most challenging things he had ever done in his life! After 5 weeks of regular practice he noticed his knees were pain free and the discomfort in his back and hips had eased. More than that something was happening internally. Through a regular Bikram practice he is a much calmer, happier person. 

Martin and his wife Katie met in the hot room and work as a great team.

Martin is one of the most popular teachers and its easy to see why. He teachers with humour and lightness whilst giving students an authentic 'dialogue' class every time.  

Martin also managers the yoga studio and he is available for students and teaches 7 days a week.

Katie Standring

Studio owner Katie has been teaching Bikram Yoga since 2005, the longest serving teacher at the studio.
In a previous life Katie spend 20 years working as a Sales and Marketing professional in London.
When she first came to Bikram Yoga the hardest challenge was to simply lay still! Despite feeling uncomfortable both physically and mentally during her first few classes something kept her going back for more. She soon started to feel more connected with her true self and her life purpose.  Losing weight and becoming more flexible was a welcomed extra! After just one year of regular bikram practice she knew she wanted to teach!

Katie has been fortunate enough to have taught in some of the biggest studios in London, California and Sydney.

In 2007 Katie met Martin. Together they shared a dream to create a Bikram Yoga Studio which was full of love and to inspire people to improve their health and happiness. In 2012 Bikram Yoga Northern Beaches was opened. 

Katie loves 'holding space' for deep healing and transformation. In addition to teaching Bikram yoga, managing the studio  (with Martin) Katie teaches Yin Yoga and runs Yoga Retreats in Bali.

Known for her compassion and gentle teaching style, she also has has a no-nonsense approach to life and believes that anything is possible with passion, clear intention and love.  

Katie has an amazing ability to connect with students whilst encouraging them to keep on sweating and smiling!
