Studio owner, Martin aka 'the Boss' certified in 2007 and is an inspirational and popular teacher. With over 3000 classes Martin has taught in some of the busiest studios in both England and Australia.

Before discovering Bikram Yoga Martin spent 14 years as a Fire Fighter. He was also a keen sportsman and was a self-confessed gym junkie! Due to the intense sports activities over a number of years Martin suffered serious knee injuries, which lead to arthritis in his knees and ongoing problems with his back and hips until one day is he was persuaded to try a Bikram class.

Back in those days Martin had very little flexibility and was unable to do many of the postures, which frustrated him, but he loved the complete body work out. He says that it was one of the hardest, most challenging things he had ever done in his life! After 5 weeks of regular practice he noticed his knees were pain free and the discomfort in his back and hips had eased. More than that something was happening internally. Through a regular Bikram practice he is a much calmer, happier person.

Martin and his wife Katie met in the hot room and work as a great team.

Martin is one of the most popular teachers and its easy to see why. He teachers with humour and lightness whilst giving students an authentic 'dialogue' class every time.

Martin also managers the yoga studio and he is available for students and teaches 7 days a week.

Take Martin's class and be prepared to you laugh out loud, sweat and cry!

Studio owner Katie has been teaching Bikram Yoga since 2005, the longest serving teacher at the studio.

In a previous life Katie spend 20 years working as a Sales and Marketing professional in London.

When she first came to Bikram Yoga the hardest challenge was to simply lay still! Despite feeling uncomfortable both physically and mentally during her first few classes something kept her going back for more. She soon started to feel more connected with her true self and her life purpose.  Losing weight and becoming more flexible was a welcomed extra! After just one year of regular bikram practice she knew she wanted to teach!

Katie has been fortunate enough to have taught in some of the biggest studios in London, California and Sydney.

In 2007 Katie met Martin. Together they shared a dream to create a Bikram Yoga Studio which was full of love and to inspire people to improve their health and happiness. In 2012 Bikram Yoga Northern Beaches was opened.

Katie loves 'holding space' for deep healing and transformation. In addition to teaching Bikram yoga, managing the studio  (with Martin) Katie teaches Yin Yoga and runs Yoga Retreats in Bali.

Paul’s first yoga class was in London, fourteen years ago. It was Bikram-method and the benefits were immediate, especially to his long-standing injuries. Having broken both legs, damaged his knees and locked his hips from twenty years of playing sport, he felt that it was time to get well! Yoga helped him more than any therapist or treatment, and he felt calmer and happier from practicing the twenty-six postures and two breathing exercises. In 2006, Paul trained as a Bikram Yoga Instructor and subsequently taught in the UK, USA and Asia before living in Australia. Paul’s teaching is also certified and accredited by The Yoga Alliance, following 1500 hours of additional training. Paul’s journey towards yoga was a natural progression having graduated (B.A. 1st. hons.) in movement and drama studies. Apart from teaching yoga, Paul has worked as an actor, presenter and voice coach for twenty years and integrate my skills with The Raja Yoga Academy, coaching voice classes and assisting future instructors. The academy is dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment for teacher trainees, placing emphasis on therapeutic teaching. Through honest and respectful communication, the academy’s aim is to inspire ethical, compassionate and confident leaders. When teaching, Paul cares deeply about the following questions. Are you practicing yoga or stress? Does the way you practice yoga rejuvenate or deplete your body? Are you creating unnecessary tension and pushing to a point that is more harmful than therapeutic? Paul’s passion is to assist students in remaining calm and grounded, so that they bring consciousness to the triad of breath, movement and stillness as they practice—initiating healing through the nervous system. Paul would like to walk with you for a step or two along your yoga path…
Barbara grew up surrounded by a sporty family and has always been active and enjoyed sports, but it wasn't until she tried Bikram Yoga that she truly found herself. "I found something that makes me feel good from the inside out..... and the best thing is that great feeling doesn's stop!"

Barabara has practising Bikram yoga daily since 2006. She completed her teacher training in Spring of 2007 and taught in Singapore for two years before returning to Australia, where she spent six months teaching at a newly opened Bikram studio in Noosa.

Now she has returned back to Sydney where she first started and where she feels she belongs the most. "I am thrilled to teach alongside so many amazing teachers here. Teaching is my daily passion and I'm blessed to be able to share something I love with others around me".

Back in 2009, Rob’s partner Christel tried to persuade him to try out Bikram Yoga. Robs response was: “Yoga - men don’t go to yoga, can’t imagine blokes going to yoga.” After a heated discussion and to keep the peace Rob agreed to give it a go…

Rob, a keen surfer and runner at the time had read in a surfing magazine about professional surfers doing yoga and cross training to help them surf better; in fact, they were saying it gave them an edge over other competitors, helping to develop core strength and mental fortitude.

His first class was hard, hot and strenuous on both body and mind. Half way through, he felt like throwing up and doing a runner for the door!  He attempted most postures but could not believe how inflexible he was! He was in awe of the rest of the class, many in there 40s, 50s and 60s, in front of him, nailing every posture in complete stillness, simultaneously maintaining a calm breath. He just knew he had to come back! Rob refused to be defeated so he went back to Bikram again and again and again. Each time, he noticed he was getting stronger, his breathing was getting easier and his mind was saying he could do this.

Within a month or two of regular practice, he felt incredible. Feeling energised all the time, sleeping like a baby! He noticed that he felt calmer at work. He was able to concentrate better and felt more relaxed and more confident around colleagues and customers.

In 2011, Rob took long service leave to pack his bags and head to the USA for the 9 weeks intensive Bikram Yoga Teacher Training. Becoming a Bikram Yoga teacher was a life changing opportunity.

Rob says that it’s been the most rewarding personal development of his life. During Robs classes he will share insights, passion and energy through and offer real inspiration to others.

Belinda began her Bikram Yoga journey in 2011. After practicing Hatha Yoga for years, a friend invited her to try a Bikram Yoga class. She found it was very intense & the class basically became a bit of a blur! But she had already purchased the Intro Offer so she tought to herself: I might as well use it!

After her fifth class she started to notice changes both physically & mentally. She was becoming more patient & peaceful, not just in the outside world but with herself. She was even learning to appreciate herself in a way she never knew possible. She bought a membership & was hooked! And the benefits just kept popping up!

After about a year she decided to muster up the courage & go to training to help spread the word... It took some time to pack up her life but she finally went to Bikram Yoga Teacher Training in 2013 & has not looked back since!

Belinda has taught in Serbia, Scotland, England, Germany, Turkey, Luxembourg... it has changed her life & continues to bring her joy & fulfilment on a daily basis. It's not easy. She still has moments. She still has a posture that really challenges her. Every day is different yet it has consistency. Belinda loves chatting about the yoga and not just in the studio but all over town!

Heather has been a nurse for 20+ years, working in a variety of fields ( oncology, palliative care, rheumatology and research to name a few) and as a result is passionate about promoting holistic health and wellbeing to everybody.

Her own battle with breast cancer prompted her to follow her dreams and move to Australia in 2003.
Heather admits to being a heat junkie but had never heard of Bikram yoga before trying her 1st class in 2005 - her practise was sporadic initially until participating in her 1st 30 day challenge. Then she became hooked!!

Reasonably fit, she was well aware of the changes to her body with regular practice - but the changes to her psychological health continue to amaze her!

Heather decided to go to Bikram Yoga Teacher Training in 2014 and she truly believes Bikram yoga makes us bullet proof.
Heather says "forget what you can't do- it's what you CAN do that counts!"

Alison limped into her first Bikram Yoga class in 2001, walked out limp free and hasn’t looked back since.

Gay has been practicing Bikram Yoga since 2013. A regular practitioner of Iyenga, Ashtanga and other Hatha yoga's' for 8 years, Gay was no stranger to yoga - or so she thought! "I remember in my first Bikram class trying every trick in the book to cope; I felt like I'd been hit by a truck, I'd never experienced anything like it". However after about two months of practice, she realised something amazing was happening, her energy levels were higher she had no more pain from arthritis and she had new found flexibility & true concentration never before gained from her past yoga experiences. Gay found such a passion for Bikram Yoga that she has completed several personal challenges including doubles challenges -'two classes a day, every day for a month'. What was amazing to Gay during the challenges was that Bikram yoga created so much energy that on some days she even did three classes a day. In 2017 the studio owners discovered another incredible discipline -' Inferno Hot Pilates'. Gay jumped at the chance to try it and she was hooked, she immediately became an Inferno Hot Pilates teacher. "Inferno is an incredibly beneficial practice in its own right, but it's also the perfect complement to Bikram Yoga; practicing both really does build strength to create flexibility. Gay's classes are strong, motivating and fun. " I'm incredibly excited about the combined health benefits of Bikram Yoga and Inferno Hot Pilates and I truly believe that everyone who practices Bikram and Inferno will feel better than they’ve ever felt in their life".
